Tissot Watches Seastar line includes the Seastar 1000 Chronograph which measures in at 48mm in diameter and has ETA C01.211 automatic movement. This movement is usually seen in the Swatch line of chronographs as it is a more affordable option than the ETA 7750 movement Tissot uses. The Seastar 1000 chronograph will have the option of a PVD finish matching either the orange and black color scheme or the blue and black combination after it is released. It is not a fashion watch, this newest line to the Tissot collection features water-resistance to 300 meters and has a helium-escape valve and sapphire crystal. The combination of minimalist styling with stunning design elements make this timepiece appealing to those who are looking for a larger chronograph.
The watch is designed beautifully in its robust case with luminous hands and markers coated with SuperLumiNova for easy viewing no matter where one happens to be wearing it day or night. The uni-directional rotating bezel will make it a favorite among divers. The chronograph hands are done in bright blue making them easy to distinguish on the dial from the hour and minute hands. The sapphire crystal is scratch-resistant and will withstand the rigors of underwater exploration. It comes with a stainless steel bracelet that has safety fastening and a diving extension with a screw-locked crown. It has a great sporty look, is highly functional and is a nice combination of style and reliability.
If the size is an issue for anyone, there is also a 42mm design available and a more affordable price as well. The thin bezel has a retro look about it keeping with the trend of mid-century design aesthetics and it keeps the watch from looking too massive. The sub-dials are clustered in the center and can be found at 6, 9 and 12 o'clock. The date window is displayed at 3 o'clock. This design allows for much of the dial to be open and therefore easy to read. The hands are designed in a mix of retro and modern as are much of the elements of this timepiece.
The chronograph seconds had has a large "T" used as a counterweight balance. In addition to the steel bracelet there is also a rubber strap option available. The watch has a sloped flange ring and the subsidiary dials are slightly recessed which give this timepiece a higher-end look. The case back features an exhibition case for full view of the movement and there is a beautiful spiral pattern with the words Tissot 1853 engraved on it. Tissot Watches can be counted on for innovative new designs and this collection will be sure to please.
